In this assignment, we had to create a logo. I made a logo with different colors, in total 3. I used toe pen "free hand" tool to make part of the design. In addition, i used some of the fonts i downloaded. One frustrating part was that i couldnt fit in the triangles properly into the star. I fixed this problem by using the pointer tool to adjust the shape. My name of my brand is 5 star, which I made up. I decided to name it 5 star because I thought that this would catch people's attention. My brand is just a normal brand for a company or clothing company because I thought it would look good as a logo. the name of the brand is in the middle of the star.

For this assignment, we had to work and organize colors. In the first assignment called "color names" we had to choose different colors and write down the hex code and the RGB. For the second assignment "color schemes" we had to choose the colors we liked on adobe color. we had to hex code for the different types of colors. (analogous, monochromatic, complementary, and triadic) For this, I decide to make rectangles and fill them in with colors. color schemescolor namesTypography is the set-up of words that makes the whole thing look clear and pleasing. This is important as it sets an overall representation of what you are trying to make the viewer think.“Each font has a personality and a purpose”. means that even fonts can produce a certain vibe. The five fonts that I've learned in this lesson are serif, San serif, monospaced, script, and display. Serif has lines at the bottom of each letter and i personally think this font is quite formal and should be used in things like newspapers..etc. Sanserif is not too formal, but it's the neutral font that is used everywhere. Monospaced fonts have an equal amount of gap in between each letter of a word. The script is extremely fancy and has lots of curves on each letter, and it is very attractive. Display fonts are attention seeking, creative, and outstanding fonts that would immediately grab a person’s attention. typeface comparisonFor this assignment, I used the same word, but in many fonts. Word PortraitsIn the activity "word portraits" I used 10 different words with two words with the same font, but with opposite match.
During class, we learned how to use the pen tool. While using the pen tool, you can cut out shapes(trace shapes) and make your own shape. In addition, we have done a multiple of activities relating to the pen tool. This includes the penny assignment, the superhero exercise, and the side tracing challenges. In all of these assignments, we had to use the pen tool skillfully. Below is the last summative assignment. For this, I decided to create an image with a puppy coming out of a donut. First, i cut out the puppy. Then, i put the puppy on the image. One challenge I faced was that when I cut out the puppy, i had to try my best not to include the background color, and only cut out the puppy.I overcame this problem by cropping it more carefully, and more detailed with the sub-select pointer.
I chose this scene because it depicts the food/desserts I love to eat. In addition, it also represents some of my favorite combinations of colors. On the left I have donuts, which I really like to eat, although I don't eat them often. I made the chocolate one since it's always my favorite to eat. On the top middle I have strawberry milkshakes. Below that, I have popsicle ice cream, and I love having these, especially in the summer. On the far right, I have a cake which is the flavor of strawberries (my favorite fruit)
In this task, I learned how to adjust a shape's corner and size. I also learned how to use the "union" "subtract" "intersect" and "difference" tools. In addition, I learned that the higher you adjust the corner, the rounder and less sharp the edges would get/
During this assignment, I learned how to align the shapes in order for them to look organized and neat. I also learned how to group many shapes together, by selecting all of them and pressing "command g". Furthermore, I learned how to order the shapes so that some are in the front, and some in the back. You have to press "command, shift, down" for the shape to go one layer beneath.
I learned how to make borders, and change the transparency of a shape in gravity. I learned how to change corners to round, or sharp. In addition, I learned how to create dashed lines, and how to make them in a unique shape.
I learned how to make shapes bigger and smaller, and how to adjust it using the pointer tool and the subselect tool. I also learned about shortcuts. In addition, I learned how to change the colors of the shapes that I made.
I learned that you can use different sizes of pages, such as A4, A3.. so on. I also learned that you can label things with different fonts and sizes as well. In addition, you can change the colors of pages and shift the pages around.
